It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas time is here and it’s time to start shopping. I know it can be daunting because there are so many options and information about what you SHOULD be getting your kids. I’m here to tell you though, that this should be FUN. So here is a List of Christmas Gift Ideas for 3 to 5 Year Olds that will not only make them happy, but are practical as well.
You can get your kids whatever you want for Christmas….so forget the “you should only get wooden toys” or “electronics and video games are bad” and just get what you want and what your kids enjoy.
In this blog I’ve rounded up some Christmas gift ideas that are great for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. There’s a variety of things for everyone to enjoy. No judgement here! Check out the list below.
CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEAS FOR 3-5 YEAR OLDS
Happy Nappers – I know the stuff on TV infomercials seem ridiculous sometimes, but my kids got happy nappers for Christmas last year and they LOVED them. If you’re not sure what they are, Happy Nappers are a sleeping bag that folds into a pillow. When you open it to the sleeping bag it has a built in pillow that is a cute little character. My kids have them in their beds year-round. They are also great for sleepovers, if you go camping, or if you’re just having a family movie night in the basement!
Megaladon Remote Control Car – This was a hit last Christmas here. And honestly, even I like it! It’s a really cool remote control car, it’s rechargeable through a USB plug, and it’s truly water proof and light weight. The charge lasts about 30 minutes or so and recharges quickly. This is one mom and dad are sure to enjoy too.😉
KiwiCo – This subscription crate is the best! Each box comes with 3 activities and everything you need for it is included in the box. Get $10 off your first box HERE.
Nintendo Switch – This is a super personal one, but if you’re into video games these are really cool! There is also an app to go along with it so you can control how long your child uses it each day.
Chalkola Dot Markers – Dot markers are awesome! Not sure why, but kids truly love dotting circles on paper.😆
Board Games – We are a total board game family. A few of our favorites are: Chess, Trouble, Zingo, Jenga, Drone Home, and Chutes and Ladders.
Books – You can’t go wrong with books! We love reading stories everyday. Check out my book list HERE.
Sticker Faces – These are fun books to pass the time. Create silly faces for endless entertainment!
Cutting Food Playset – Great for fine motor skills and imaginative play. Your kids can use these for pretend kitchen play, restaurant play, grocery store play, and more!
Train Tracks – We have loved Brio train tracks over the years. It’s always fun to create tracks together and play trains.
Waterbeads – These are a great sensory activity. Add them to a bowl or a water table and your kids will stay occupied for hours! They are small though so they are definitely not for kids who still put things in their mouth!
Sticker Books – My kids are obsessed with the paint by sticker books from Workman Publishing. They have a bunch of different themed books such as, animals, dinosaurs, princesses, and more. So you’re bound to find one your child will like.!
Balance Bike – My son has a Kazam balance bike and I swear it helped him learn to ride a bicycle in 10 minutes (once he was ready.) These bikes are so fun and help build balance better than riding a bike with training wheels.
Wellie Wisher Dolls – We don’t actually have one of these yet, BUT I grew up with American Girl dolls. And I’m SUPER excited to gift one of these dolls to my 4 year old daughter this year!
