So now that I have picked out my house and have been approved, the wait and impatience for the move is starting to build. Today I have decided to go on a Art Shopping Trip as I am a fan of shopping for this kind of stuff online.
As an Interior Designer and Event Planner, I love Art of all kinds. But Shopping for it can be a huge pain if you don't have a large variety to choose from. I have even spent days in the art District here in Las Vegas, just trying to find the right size frame for over a client's bed in the past. With our lovely dawn of online stores with art filling their pages, this is no longer necessary. I have many online stores I shop with for different things, but when it comes to real hand painted and custom framed art, there is only one place I go! Overstock Art!
I am working on three rooms at the moment and have been stuck torn between several paintings for a few hours now, hence this blog post LOL! Living in Las Vegas, I love this hand painted
Lady Godiva, c. 1897 by John Maler Collier is one of my favorite and has that old desert world appeal. I mean look at it in this reading room, with the tall flowering desert cactus. It does make the entire scene if not room pop. What do you think? Is it too bold or just the right amount of color?
Then I have my Living Room and Bedroom I am in a tie between the other two I have picked out. As you can see, I am in love with this Antique Gold framed Floral Print
To show you this one in more detail, so you can see why I think it would be a stunning addition to my new home. The Gold Frame really brings out the tiny golden details in the flowers. To me this is truly stunning!
So you saw the painting in three settings, the Living room over the fireplace, the living-room on my blank wall by the Statue Showcase and over my bed.
Now there is my last one, which is another floral that I picked out.
My Next pick I chose because of my couch, well originally. I thought the subtle pink blossoms would give that extra pop without exploding with feminine love. I love so many styles, I even had an Asian themed living room for a while. But that time it went well with my olive green walls. Now with my blank slate, that I want to keep blank, to constantly change out easily for parties and events, I would rather stay subtle with my designs until I am ready to go bold.
Wow, that was a mouthful, LOL!
So as you can see above, this is shown over a bed setting. Now you have to imagine this over a HUMONGOUS tan sectional couch with large fluffy overstuffed white and brown pillows. I can switch the pillows out as well. But here is a little more vision below.
So you can see this right over the couch, which again mine is probably double the size. But the same frame as the one on the left. With Pillows almost identical to the ones on the couch. So you can clearly see my Dilemma here.
Hey you can even show me more, just go to Overstock Art and Show me what you think would be a great addition to my new home. I look forward to seeing all your recommendations Below!
